Add Equipment to your Food Safety / HACCP Plan
Equipment used within a facility during the manufacturing, production, or cooking of a product is an important element of your company's food safety / HACCP plan. Your production is dependent on the equipment used and should be tracked within your HACCP or Preventive Controls plans.
Adding equipment to your food safety / HACCP plan can be begun in two separate places within your ConnectFood portal. The first is through the "Equipment" option, which is found under the "Operations" tab at the top of your ConnectFood dashboard. After you have entered equipment, you may associate them to your food product through your plan builder.
The second option is to add equipment directly through the ConnectFood plan builder. Click "HACCP / PC Plans" to begin your plan.
Once you have started your Food Safety / HACCP Plan, the tab with the equipment icon signifies the equipment used in your plan. Click on the icon to open the "Equipment" tab and click "Add Equipment."
Once the "Add Equipment" button has been selected, the following screen will pop up, allowing you to add various pieces of information regarding your equipment, including: Name of Equipment, Make, Model, Product Serial Number, and a short description.
If you have documentation regarding your Equipment, you may choose the "Upload Specs" button on the bottom left corner of the "Edit Equipment" box to open the option to choose a PDF file from your computer and upload it until the ConnectFood software.
Once you have filled out the appropriate equipment information, you can assign these pieces of equipment to your process flow diagram and the steps at which they are involved. To begin, open the "Equipment" tab signified by the equipment icon. Click on the green ellipsis, which will open the option to "+ Add to Process Step."
After selecting the "+ Add to Process Step" button, the following screen will appear, at which point you will select the step within your process flow diagram that the equipment is relevant. NOTE: pieces of equipment may be assigned to multiple steps.
Finally, you'll see the equipment has been successfully assigned to the process step, which is indicated by a brown equipment icon. NOTE: You may assign multiple pieces of equipment per step.
